Alstom Power’s Intermediate
Cooling Pumps are safety pumps
which offer outstanding levels of
reliability through a simple design
but high quality operations.
The minimum expected flow rate is
defined when a RRI train is cooling
only the corresponding train. All
intermediate expected flow rates
are also possible according to plant
operating modes or requirements.
The pumps ensure the effective
heat removal from nuclear reactor
components, reactor auxiliary
systems, and nuclear auxiliary
systems to the heat sink via the
essential service water system under
all plant operating conditions.
The pump ensures the required flow
rates in all plant operating modes.
The maximum expected flow rate
is defined when RRI train 3 or 4 is
cooling the corresponding SIS train
and the second common set of users.
