With taller turbines, wind energy can be harvested more
efficiently from a broader range of sites. To overcome the
challenge to continuously increase the size of the wind
turbine and the constraints of height and weight, Alstom
uses Freyssinet’s new technology for precast concrete
wind towers.

The new 119-metre tower allows to better harness the
wind resources and to capture more energy. With a 2.7 MW
nominal output wind turbine combined with a taller 119-metre
tower, the annual yield can be improved by up to 10% (on
high wind shear sites).
The ECO 122 leading efficiency and high yield set a new
benchmark for medium and low wind sites. Its 122-metre
