nnnnActuators
nnnnFisher 1051 and 1052 spring-return diaphragm rotary
nnnnactuators operate splined shaft rotary valves, such as
nnnneccentric disc (8510B and 8560), 8532 and 9500,
nnnnCV500 and V500 and Vee-Ball ™ (VI50, V200 and
nnnnV300) valves. 1051 and 1052 actuators are both
nnnnsuitable for on-off service or for throttling service. The
nnnnprimary difference between these actuators is that the
nnnn1052 actuator has a spring adjuster (see figure 1)
nnnnwhich means it may be used with or without a
nnnnpositioner, depending on service requirements. The
nnnn1051 actuator, in throttling service, is normally
nnnnequipped with a valve positioner. Refer to separate
nnnnbulletins for valve and positioner information.
nnnnBoth actuator types are designed for easy installation
nnnnof a broad range of options: limit switches, position
nnnnindicating switches, positioners, and manual
nnnnover-rides. Option applicability varies with actuator
nnnnsize. Refer to the specifications table and table 4 for
nnnninformation concerning option applicability and
nnnnspecifications.
nnnnFeatures
nnnn■ Application Flexibility-1051 and 1052 rotary
nnnnactuators are available with fail-open or fail-close
nnnnconstruction and can be mounted in any of four
nnnnactuator-valve mounting positions. See figure 7 for
nnnnmounting positions. These actuators can be
nnnnmounted on a broad range of Fisher valves (style F
nnnnor G mounting), or used with other equipment
nnnn(style H or J mounting).
nnnn■ Minimal Dead Band-Single joint linkage with
nnnnsplined and clamped lever minimizes lost motion
nnnnand improves control accuracy.
nnnn■ Long Service Life- Rugged construction provides
nnnnstability, corrosion resistance, and protection from
nnnndeformation should over-pressurization occur.
nnnn■ Safety- Actuator-valve linkage is completely
nnnnenclosed, yet the valve packing adjustment remains
nnnnaccessible without removing any parts (see figures

nnnncompression is controlled on the 1051 actuator.
nnnnThe 1052 actuator has an externally accessible
nnnnspring adjuster to relieve spring compression (see
nnnnfiqure 1).
