Die Hunger Präzisions-O-Ringe und Rundschnurringe werden für statische Abdichtungen eingesetzt.
Durch eine große Auswahl geeigneter Dichtungswerkstoffe werden Dichtungsprobleme bei verschiedenen
Druckmedien, Drücken und Temperaturen in weiten
Grenzen beherrscht.

Hunger precision O-Rings and toroidal sealing rings
are used as static seals. By selecting suitable materials, a wide range of sealing problems involving different fluids, pressures and temperatures can be solved.

Die Dichtwirkung beruht darauf, daß der Einbauraum
in einer Richtung kleiner als der Profildurchmesser ist.
Durch die Elastizität des Werkstoffes verformt sich der
Ring und dichtet dadurch bereits im drucklosen Zustand ausreichend ab. Hinzutretender Druck erhöht
die Verformung und somit auch die Dichtwirkung.

The sealing effect is based on the principle that the
installation space in one direction is smaller than the
profile diameter. As a result of the elasticity of the material, the ring deforms and provides an adequate seal,
even in the pressureless state. The onset of pressure
increases the deformation and thus the sealing effect.

Es ist wichtig, den - in Druckrichtung gesehen - hinter
dem O-Ring liegenden Spalt so klein wie möglich zu
halten, damit das Dichtungsmaterial nicht in den Spalt
einfließen kann. Dies würde zur Zerstörung der Dichtung führen. Wesentlich ist auch die Wahl der richtigen Shore-Härte, die bei größeren Drücken entsprechend höher sein sollte.

It is important to keep the gap behind the ring - as seen
in the pressure direction - as small as possible so that
the sealing material cannot flow into the gap. This would
cause the destruction of the seal. It is also important to
select the correct shore hardness which should be correspondingly higher at higher pressures.
