Application

The ELASTOX®-T disk air diffuser was developed

nnnn

in 1984 to be applied especially to water and waste

nnnn

water treatment for fine-bubbling compressed-air

nnnn

aeration.Typical applications are the following:

nnnn

■ Preservation aeration of waste water e.g.

nnnn

in balancing tanks

nnnn

■ Oxygenation in activation basins

nnnn

for concentrated nitrification

nnnn

■ Oxygenation for sludge stabilization

nnnn

■ Aeration of rivers and lakes

nnnn

■ CO2 admission for neutralization

nnnn

Operational principle

nnnn

A G1" socket fitting is used for attachment to one

nnnn

of the distributing pipes and to the air feeding

nnnn

component. In idle state, the membrane is flatly

nnnn

lying on the plain supporting disk. Only after the

nnnn

internal air pressure rises above the static

nnnn

pressure of the surrounding water, the membrane

nnnn

will be lifted slightly from the supporting body,

nnnn

thus giving way for the air to expand into the

nnnn

resulting space.The air flows through the

nnnn

perforation of the membrane and enters the liquid

nnnn

in a very fine-bubbling state.

nnnn

Intermittent mode of operation

nnnn

The structural design has been arranged in such a

nnnn

way that there are even two systems preventing

nnnn

the liquid from flowing back into the air diffuser in

nnnn

case of dropping pressure:

nnnn

■ Due to restoration elasticity, the perforation

nnnn

holes in the membrane will close, while the

nnnn

latter lies flatly on the supporting disk.

nnnn

■ The patented lift limitation device arranged in

nnnn

the central position functions just like a check

nnnn

valve by closing the air feeding openings.

nnnn

The ELASTOX®-T Spezial air diffuser excels by the

nnnn

unique safety properties of its additionally

nnnn

integrated spring-loaded check valve, not only in

nnnn

intermittent operation mode, but also in case of

nnnn

damage. If the membrane e.g. is defective, the

nnnn

quantity of leaking air is reduced so that, even in

nnnn

case of damaged individual air diffusers, there is

nnnn

no immediate corrective measure necessary in

nnnn

terms of the overall system.
