Technical information
nnnnTube air cliff user ELASTOX -R
nnnnApplication
nnnnThe ELASTOX®-R tube air diffuser was developed
nnnnby GVA as a membrane compressed-air system
nnnnespecially for water and sewage technology in
nnnn1983.The design advantages as well as the low-
nnnnbuoyancy behaviour by floodable support tubes
nnnntriggered the development of numerous similar
nnnnsystems based on this design principle. Up to
nnnnnow, the high quality and constantly good per-
nnnnformance in permanent operation have gained
nnnngreat reputation worldwide.
nnnnIn the course of time, design-related features and
nnnnmaterials have steadily been optimised and
nnnnadvanced; however, the floodable support tube
nnnnprinciple has stood the test of time.Typical appli-
nnnncations are as follows:
nnnn■ Preservation aeration of waste water e.g.
nnnnin balancing tanks
nnnn■ Oxygenation in activation basins
nnnn■ Oxygenation for sludge stabilization
nnnn■ Aeration of rivers and lakes
nnnn■ Aeration of fish ponds
nnnn■ CO2 admission for neutralization
nnnnOperational principle
nnnnToday the support body of the ELASTOX®-R tube
nnnnair diffuser consists of a continuous injection-
nnnnmoulded component with integrated air feed and
nnnna stainless-steel threaded bush for fixing pur-
nnnnposes. The structural design of the air diffuser has
nnnnbeen designed in such a way that, as a rule, the
nnnnexchangeability of the ceramic tube air diffuser
nnnn0 40/70 is ensured. For special installation con-
nnnnditions, adapters can be provided.
nnnnA great many oxygen admission tests on existing facilities
nnnnhave confirmed that ELAST0X®-R tube air diffuser take
nnnna leading position as to micro-bubble aeration systems.
nnnnThe outstanding advantages of the ELASTOX®-R
nnnntube air diffuser are the following:
nnnn■ Micro-bubbling condition and thus optimum
nnnnoxygen utilisation
nnnn■ Defined distance between pores prevents
nnnncoalescence of air bubbles during the
nnnngeneration process.The elastic membrane
nnnnensures a high degree of non-clogging
nnnnoperating condition in a difficult application
nnnnenvironment.
nnnn■ Due to an intermittent mode of operation, the
nnnnapplication of modern process techniques (e.g.
nnnnnitrification/de-nitrification) also in existing
nnnnfacilities is possible.
nnnn■ Additional energy saving based on the
nnnnadaptability of oxygen admission to all load
nnnnconditions, not taking into account a minimum
nnnnadmission of diffusers.
nnnn■ Floodable support tubes reduce buoyancy
