nnnnThousands of Alstom Grid voltage transformers are in service worldwide, some for more
nnnnthan 30 years. In all types of climates and under the most severe conditions, they give full
nnnnsatisfaction to the most exacting customers.
nnnnAlstom Grid - Instrument Transformers
nnnnmanufactures a complete range of HV oil-filled
nnnnvoltage transformers. OTEF is a tank-type
nnnnpotential transformer with post insulator.
nnnnFor OTEF up to 420 kV, Alstom Grid's design
nnnnincorporates a primary coil housed in the
nnnntank at the unit's base. Internal insulation is
nnnnprovided by hermetically sealed oil and oil-
nnnnimpregnated paper system. Outer insulation
nnnnconsists of a one-piece post-type insulator.
nnnnFor voltages at Um > 420 kV, the design
nnnnconsists of two coils at half potential located in
nnnna tank in the center of the voltage transformer.
nnnnInternal insulation is provided by hermetically
nnnnsealed oil and oil-impregnated paper system.
nnnnOuter insulation is in the form of single piece
nnnnpost-type insulators located above and below
nnnnthe transformer tank.
nnnnBuilt for long life
nnnnOTEF is built based on Alstom Grid quality and
nnnntechnology. It is designed for system voltages
nnnnup to 800 kV.
nnnnLong life Insulation integrity is assured by a
nnnnmetallic diaphragm assembly that hermetically
nnnnseals the oil from the atmosphere. All external
nnnnparts are manufactured from corrosion-resis-
nnnntant material. Regular painting is not required.
nnnnHigh quality paper-oil insulation
nnnnThe majority of the potential transformers
nnnnusing Alstom Grid technology have insulation
nnnnpaper that has been applied mechanically,
nnnnguaranteeing a homogenous, high-density
nnnnpaper insulation. Defined grading layers with
nnnnfield-optimized electrode rings achieve a
nnnnuniform field distribution along the insulator
nnnnbetween line and ground. Surge protector
nnnndevises are not necessary.
