The IMLWatcher was specifically designed for the inline quality
control of IML and injection molded products. This system can

be integrated seamlessly into the automation robot of
modern injection molding machines, therefore supporting the
fastest cycle times.
The IMLWatcher detects typical defects related to the IML
process, such as label offset, angular rotation, print errors,
label identification, back injection moldings and holes.
Among the range of software modules, the IMLWatcher can
be fitted with software to accept un-oriented round labels.
This software will automatically orient the image first before
it will perform the regular inspection. INTRAVIS has proven
techniques in lighting and camera placement allowing for the
detection of defects using as few cameras as possible. These
efficient designs of the IMLWatcher allow it to check multiple
cavity products at very high speeds with excellent accuracy
and repeatability. It features all the necessary signaling and
processing to enable cavity-related ejection, thus minimizing
your scrap rate even in multi-cavity mode.
The IMLWatcher’s versatility has proven useful beyond the
standard IML label. Its design has also been used to check
other types of labels such as wrapped, glued, or base labels,
even when they come in “no-label look” styles. An additional
advantage of this system is the ability to check any injection
molded part directly within the automation robot, even
those without labels. Typical inspection of parts without labels
includes contamination, dark or light spots, cracks, holes, etc.
