PSID Product Feature Benefits

The PSID2 is a platform solution that together with the

Quadra4 automates and logs the reformatting of samples

from a 12x75 vial to a 96-well assay format. Within the

reformatting process, the PSID2 platform will provide

traceability for the transfer of all samples with good

laboratory procedure and "Chain of Custody". The platform is

comprised of four components; Two (2) 48 position mirror

racks, the PSID2 fixture itself and a bar-code reader wand.

The platform is also provided with an easy-to-use software

suite for logging the position of the scanned 12x75 sample

vials to 96 well assay format.

Operation

The PSID2 fixture is connected via a USB cable to a local PC running the code suite. A GUI displays

the orientation of the first of two 48-position sample-racks (Black or White). The operator then

positions a rack into the PSID2 fixture, bar-code scans the fixture and begins to insert vial into the 48

wells. As each vial is inserted, it is bar-code scanned and then pressed into the fixture. This action

activates a membrane switch, which logs the noted information to a .csv (Excel) file, i.e., the barcode

and destination-well (within the 96-well assay, Bar-code#, Well#). This procedure is repeated for both

racks.

At the completion of the logging process, the two filled racks are placed on Quadra4 carriages and

two pipetting transfers are initiated - white rack to odd location, 1,3,5 ... 95, black rack to even

location 2, 4, 6 ... 96. At the end of the operation, the 96 samples are precision transferred to a

96-well assay and the individual barcodes are logged within a csv (Excel) spreadsheet, providing full

chain of custody.
