General
The PD-ETH01V1 /DP Interface Electronics is a powerful and
compact digital spectral data acquisition controller with
onboard real time data preprocessing capabilities and an
Ethernet network interface. The product is directly compatible
to all Front End Electronics (FEE) which comply to the tec5
specification ‘Interface_18*2’ (FEEs in version /EMB = ‘Embedded’).
Using the Ethernet Interface Electronics, the PC controls the
Frond End Electronics and the Spectral Sensor connected to
it. Once parameterized and started by the PC, the data acquisition controller provides fully autonomous management of the
selected readout cycle.

In standard delivery, the PD-ETH01V1 /DP performs a set of
digital data preprocessing functions taking advantage of an
on-board FPGA component. The calculations are performed
in acquisition real-time, introducing no additional processing
delay for the measurement.
Using tec5 software components based on the SDACQ32MP
function library (DLL), a call of one of the relevant functions
directs the execution of the functionality to the hardware preprocessing section of the PD-ETH01V1 /DP.
Description of the preprocessing functionality:
Dark Correction:
The acquired spectrum is reduced by a previously recorded dark spectrum.
Averaging:
Up to 256 spectra can be accumulated and averaged before the result is passed on to the Ethernet interface.
Linearization:
A third order polynomial linearity correction is applied to
the intensity values to correct non-linearity effects of the
sensor in use. The coefficients are loaded from the host
PC.
ROI Selection:
Two regions can be preselected by specifying the corresponding pixel ranges.
An integrated I²C bus allows internal communication between
connected electronics (e.g. parameters or coefficients, identification / version).
PC and Power Requirements
For operation, a PC connected to an Ethernet network, a free
network connection port and Windows 7, Vista, or XP is required.
