RTC® 5
nnnncontrol and versatility
nnnnThe RTC16^ control board provides synchronous, interference-
nnnnresistant control of scan systems, lasers and peripheral equipment
nnnnin real time. It is available as a PC interface board, as a PCI-Express
nnnnboard or as a PC/104-P/us module.
nnnnA high-performance signal processor and the supplied DLL simplify
nnnnprogramming under Windows. Software commands are loaded
nnnninto the RTC®5's freely-configurable list buffer and processed by
nnnnthe DSP. Every 10 us, appropriate signals are output to or read-out
nnnnfrom the scan system, laser and peripheral equipment.
nnnnThe RJC% communicates with scan systems via the new SL2-100
nnnndata transfer protocol. This protocol supports 20-bit control sig-
nnnnnals and thereby a 16x higher positioning resolution compared to
nnnnthe RTC®4 predecessor board. The RTC®5's processor automati-
nnnncally performs micro-vectorization and image field correction.

nnnnFor laser control, various programmable laser signals are available
nnnnfor vector and bitmap processing. During execution, the board can
nnnnprovide automatic position/speed/vector-dependent readjustment
nnnnof laser power.
nnnnFor SCANLAB scan systems with fully digital servo electronics
nnnn(e.g. intelliSGW®, ¡ntelI¡cube®, intelliD/?//./.®, intellil/1/H.D®,
nnnnpowerSC/W i), the RTC® 5 also supports all possibilities arising
nnnnfrom the ¡DRIVE® technology. This includes real-time monitoring
nnnnand remote diagnosis of key operational parameters, simulation-
nnnnassisted process optimization and the use of different dynamics
nnnntunings. The feedback of the scan-system speed can be used for
nnnnspeed-dependent laser control.
nnnnNumerous options provide the extensive flexibility system integra-
nnnntors need for meeting diverse customer requirements.
