The ultrasound technology is used for

the acceleration of sieving processes

alternatively or complementary to the

classical low frequency vibrators.

Especially in case of very fine materi-

nnnn

als ultrasound is often the only possibi-

nnnn

lity to enable the sieving process at

nnnn

all.

Hielscher Ultrasonics has developed a

nnnn

worldwide unique technology

nnnn

especially for exciting common

nnnn

laboratory ring sieves (according to

nnnn

DIN ISO 3310/1 or ASTM E 11-95) with

nnnn

diameters of 100mm up to 400mm. A

nnnn

ring sonotrode that fits the sieve is

nnnn

excited by the ultrasonic processor

nnnn

UIS250L. The ring sonotrode transmits

nnnn

the oscillation via the sieve frame to the

nnnn

screening surface. With the help of the

nnnn

clamping fixtures the neighboring

nnnn

sieves are also excited. In contrast to

nnnn

the ultrasonic sieving processes known

nnnn

until now, in which each sieve needs its

nnnn

own ultrasonic excitation, this is a very

nnnn

inexpensive and flexible solution.

nnnn

Another advantage of this exciting

nnnn

principle is that the transducer is situa-

nnnn

ted outside the material to be sieved.

nnnn

This technology can be used for dry or

nnnn

wet sieving, as well as for cleaning the

nnnn

sieves. The ultrasonic components

nnnn

can be retrofitted in already existing

nnnn

sieving towers and can even be used

nnnn

in combination with vibrators. In this

nnnn

case the delivery scope consists only

nnnn

of the ultrasonic processor UIS250L

nnnn

and the ring sonotrode, which will be

nnnn

fitted into the common laboratory ring

nnnn

sieves of most manufacturers (see

nnnn

table).

nnnn

An accessory set is necessary for a

nnnn

complete sieving tower. The set con-

nnnn

sists of a basic platform, tension bars

nnnn

with rapid tension nuts, a bottom recei-

nnnn

ver and a top cover.

nnnn

On request we can also offer the

nnnn

required laboratory analysis sieves.
