Embra COBIend Integrated Beer Blending and Carbonation System with in-line analysis. Standard Application The Embra COBtend\s designed for the accurate control of blending beer and water, with subsequent carbonation. The system provides the tightest possible control over these parameters both nine and in destination tank. The blending package addresses the problems of layering in tanks and water addition from pre-coating of the filter. Operating Principle Beer, water and C02are piped Into one end of the skid module. Beer runs through a flowmeter and the in-line %ABV / Plato and dissolved C02measurement system. The CO, and water modulation valves are set using the Embra PID control, which uses the instantaneous readings and the calculated intank average value to control the feedback. COBIend allows blending into part-filled tanks and diversion of beer / water to drain by calculating average quantities throughout tank-filling operations. COBtend will achieve the correct beer blend in the tank, within the first 10OhL even when starting with water in the beer line. The system can operate in automatic, semiͭautomatic or manual mode, depending on various uses and fault scenarios. The system can operate as stand alone plant or can communicate with the PLC to accept remote start / stop signals. In-tine analysis The Embrn COBIond system incorporates '.he well proven CarboCheck equilibrium partial pressure / temperature technology for precise, fast in-line CO.-. measurement. The unique in-line Embra alcohol / Plato determination is achieved by means of time of flight ultrasound and in-iine densitometer.

Fml gkicl mounted E mDia CO&erw System Mode of Operation The blended beer is first passed through an in-line static mixer, to achieve an homogeneous liquid. Mixed product then passes through the measurement pipe section, where the Plato and CO,, measurements occur. The process line pressure on the skid is controlled to allow effective gas and water injection. The COBIend skid module incorporates holding tubes, to aid the gas dissolving process. Features ■ Continuous feedback control ■ Non-sampling measurement sensors ■ No moving parts - low maintenance ■ Interfaces with other plant / PLC ■ Compact, rugged and sanitary design ■ Optional remote displays ■ Remote start / stop / hold facility
