Miniature IR Emitter
Introduction
Pyreos is pleased to present infra-red light emitters (light sources) packaged in a
miniaturized PCB format that makes it suitable for PTH or SMD processing. The emitter
package is designed to have a similar footprint to old fashioned bulb style IR sources,
offering customers the opportunity to easily exploit the longer wavelength emission and
higher performance offered by these robust and reliable IR emitters. The emitters offer
pseudo-blackbody emission properties, are capable of being modulated over a wide
frequency range, and can be controlled by either the current or voltage supply. Lifetime is
exceptional when operated at 550C and can be operated at up to 800C with a corresponding
reduction in lifetime. The flexibility of the pcb package format enables Pyreos to easily
design a custom emitter package to fit any customer’s requirement.
