nnnnfrequency induction heating to sterilize steel can ends simply,
nnnnsafely and efficiently with minimum operator intervention.

nnnnconventional sterilization systems.
nnnnInnovative Induction Technology
nnnnWith medium-frequency induction heating, power is supplied
nnnnto a series of coils, creating a
nnnnfluctuating magnetic field. Steel
nnnncan ends that pass through the
nnnncoils are heated directly by the
nnnneddy currents produced within
nnnnthe steel. The system provides fast,
nnnncontrollable heating with less energy consumption than other
nnnnheating methods.
nnnnThe induction coils are wrapped completely around a Pyrex*
nnnntransport tube, through which the ends are conveyed. The
nnnntransport tube isolates the ends from the induction coil, and
nnnnprotects the coil from direct contact with the parts. Energy

nnnnIn addition, the instant on/off heating also contributes to
nnnnenergy savings.
nnnnThe system's solid-state, power-generating components convert
nnnnapproximately 90 percent of the energy consumed into usable
nnnnheating. In addition, the end sterilizer also has a low-power
nnnnstandby feature that keeps ends at their proper temperature
nnnnduring line stoppages, reducing energy waste substantially by
nnnnnot operating at full power.
nnnnMedium-frequency (5-15 kHz) power generator and control
nnnncomponents are located directly under sterilizer coil tray in a
nnnn30 X 42" enclosure. A base-mounted blower cools all electronic
nnnncomponents. Exhaust air from the generator is directed through
nnnnthe coil enclosure to cool the induction coil. No water cooling
nnnnis required.
nnnnEach power generator can deliver up to 30 kilowatts
nnnnof energy, depending on the line voltage.
