nnnnAdvanced voltage blocking technology for the
nnnnelectrostatic application of waterborne coatings.
nnnnFor many finishing operations, the most cost-effective way
nnnnto reduce VOC emissions is to convert from solvent-based to
nnnnwaterborne coatings. But due to the higher electrical conductivity
nnnnof waterborne coatings, it is necessary to isolate the charged
nnnnpaint-supply system from any ground source. These isolated
nnnnsystems are difficult to maintain and potentially dangerous
nnnnto plant personnel.
nnnnThe Nordson Iso-Flo HD voltage block offers an easier, safer
nnnnand far more cost-effective way to spray electrostatically charged
nnnnwaterborne coatings. The system supplies charged coating to the
nnnnspray devices while preventing the charge from conducting back
nnnnthrough the paint-supply system.
nnnnNordson Iso-Flo systems are built for the most demanding
nnnnfinishing requirements with high-capacity, field-repairable
nnnnpumps that provide long life with minimal maintenance
nnnnand an innovative arc-suppression feature that allows continuous
nnnncoating without delay between cycles.
nnnnHow the Iso-Flo HD System Works
nnnnAn Iso-Flo HD manual or automatic voltage block is installed
nnnnnear the spray booth, and is connected between the grounded
nnnnpaint-supply system and the spray devices. Coating is pumped
nnnnfrom the paint-supply system to paint reservoirs inside the voltage
nnnnblocks. Electrostatic isolation is maintained with a series of shuttle
nnnnvalves that alternately connect the reservoirs to the grounded
nnnnpaint supply and the spray devices. Standard Iso-Flo HD
nnnnconfigurations are available for single-gun manual painting
nnnnsystems and single- and multiple-gun automatic painting systems.
