manufacturing and supplying contact
wires and cables to international rail-
way companies for more than 100
years.
A specialty is contact wires made of
copper, copper-silver and copper-
magnesium alloys for very-high-speed
lines.
However nkt cables is synonymous
with a far wider range of railway pro-
ducts and services:
From bare conducting material for
catenary systems via cables and
accessories for medium-voltage energy
transmission up to turn-key, high-
voltage, cable systems. Halogen-free
cables and flexible cables are also part
of this product range, as are distribution
cabinets and connection boxes or spe-
cial accessories for locomotives, trans-
former stations or medium-voltage,
feed-in systems. At the same time we
offer signalling cables and equipment
for the telecommunication sector.
Our many years of experience enable
us to offer customized solutions and
put us in a position to offer economical
solutions which satisfy customer requi-

Another strength is our innovative po-
tential, supported by our own metal-
lurgical developments, which we are
able to use when it comes to special
challenges relating to product lifetime

veloped contact wires that today allow
speeds of more than 500 km/h to be
reached. At the same time these new
contact wires offer a service life that
is many times greater, nkt cables

to making international rail traffic more
