The 2nd edition of the NETZSCH Industrial Applications Handbook, “TA for Ceramic
Materials” is now available. Here, in addition to an introduction to the various
methods of thermal analysis, over 30 examples are presented for raw and building
materials, silicate ceramics and glass - and, for technical ceramics, mechanical,
electronic, magnetic and optical applications are illustrated.
Instruments/methods addressed are the dilatometer (DIL), thermomechanical
analyzer (TMA), glaze stress tester (GST), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC),
thermogravimetric analyzer (TG), simultaneous thermal analyzer (STA), STA/
evolved gas analysis and the laser flash apparatus (LFA). The application examples
have been updated and edited, and some new examples – in particular, from the
classic “oxide ceramics” – have been added.
