ViscoLine Dynamic
Applications
The ViscoLineTM Dynamic Unit is a new generation of scraped
surface heat exchangers (SSHE). The unit was designed for
use in applications with a high degree of fouling and in the
crystallization and evaporation of high viscosity products, with
or without particulates. The ViscoLine Dynamic Unit works
equally well whether installed horizontally or vertically.
These units are most commonly used for fruit and vegetable
purées, pulps and concentrate when long running times are
needed, ketchup, dairy desserts, cooking applications, freezing
applications, evaporating applications, chocolate, UHT milk, ice
cream, edible fats crystallizing, chicken viscera, ice beer, etc.
Standard design
The ViscoLine Dynamic Unit consists of a bundle of tubes
mounted inside an outer shell. The product medium flows
inside these tubes, and the service medium outside. All tubes
are connected in parallel.
All the inner tubes include moving bars that support the
scraping and mixing elements. These bars also serve to
prevent fouling of the heat exchanger surface and agitate the
flow in order to achieve excellent heat transfer. These bars
feature reciprocal motion, and the flow of the product medium
can be either single-pass or multi-pass.
ViscoLine Dynamic modules are normally connected in series
and grouped on a common frame. Since the unit has no
mechanical seals, there is no need for any spare parts. The
ViscoLine Dynamic Unit is a patented design (in Europe, USA
and Japan). An IP55 electric motor drives the hydraulic pump.
