Ultrasonic Sieving for Laboratories
nnnnUIS250L ultrasonic sieving tower
nnnnThe ultrasound technology is used for
nnnnthe acceleration of sieving processes
nnnnalternatively or complementary to the
nnnnclassical low frequency vibrators.
nnnnEspecially in case of very fine materi-
nnnnals ultrasound is often the only possibi-
nnnnlity to enable the sieving process at
nnnnall.
nnnnHielscher Ultrasonics has developed a
nnnnworldwide unique technology
nnnnespecially for exciting common
nnnnlaboratory ring sieves (according to
nnnnDIN ISO 3310/1 or ASTM E 11-95) with
nnnndiameters of 100mm up to 400mm. A
nnnnring sonotrode that fits the sieve is
nnnnexcited by the ultrasonic processor
nnnnUIS250L. The ring sonotrode transmits
nnnnthe oscillation via the sieve frame to the
nnnnscreening surface. With the help of the
nnnnclamping fixtures the neighboring
nnnnsieves are also excited. In contrast to
nnnnthe ultrasonic sieving processes known
nnnnuntil now, in which each sieve needs its
nnnnown ultrasonic excitation, this is a very
nnnninexpensive and flexible solution.
nnnnAnother advantage of this exciting
nnnnprinciple is that the transducer is situa-
nnnnted outside the material to be sieved.
nnnnThis technology can be used for dry or
nnnnwet sieving, as well as for cleaning the
nnnnsieves. The ultrasonic components
nnnncan be retrofitted in already existing
nnnnsieving towers and can even be used
nnnnin combination with vibrators. In this
nnnncase the delivery scope consists only
nnnnof the ultrasonic processor UIS250L
nnnnand the ring sonotrode, which will be
nnnnfitted into the common laboratory ring
nnnnsieves of most manufacturers (see
nnnntable).
nnnnAn accessory set is necessary for a
nnnncomplete sieving tower. The set con-
nnnnsists of a basic platform, tension bars
nnnnwith rapid tension nuts, a bottom recei-
nnnnver and a top cover.
nnnnOn request we can also offer the
nnnnrequired laboratory analysis sieves.
