Technical information
Laser disk is soldered on a heat sink made of gold plated copper-tungsten to
provide mechanical stiffness and thermal contact. Water nozzle of TDM 1.0
rinses the bottom surface of the heat sink and provides impingement cooling.
Water is sealed with a D 11 mm x 1 mm O-ring. The heat sink is fixed with three
M2 x 5 mm screws.
Each disk is tested in laser operation in a multimode as well as in a fundamental
mode cavity before delivery. The size of the pump spot is typically chosen to
match the desired application. Per default a diameter of 3 mm is used. The
maximum pump spot diameter can be smaller than theoretically possible (6 mm)
due to interface imperfections and is matched to customer requirements.
