nnnnIn Ex areas
nnnn1. Conductors: stranded copper busbars
nnnn1.0 mm2, tinned
nnnn2. Self-limiting irradiated synthetic
nnnnpolymer heating cable
nnnn3. Inner polyolein electrical insulation jacket
nnnnthermally fused to the heating element
nnnn(bonded jacket)
nnnn4. Outer polyolefin electrical insulation jacket
nnnn5. Tinned copper braiding
nnnnDescription
nnnnVia two tin-coated stranded copper wires with a
nnnncross-section of 1 mm2 each which are positioned
nnnnIn parallel, an irradiated electrically conducting
nnnnplastic is extruded.
nnnnThis electrically conducting plastic matrix
nnnnresponds to changes of the ambient temperature
nnnnwith a respective increase or decrease of the
nnnnheating output.
nnnnElectrical strength as well as protection against
nnnnhumidity and mechanical stress is ensured by two
nnnnsurrounding insulation jackets, whereas the first
nnnnjacket is permanently bonded to the heating matrix
nnnn(bonded jacket).
nnnnAdditional electrical and mechanical protection
nnnnIs achieved by means of the following copper
nnnnbraiding.
nnnnA flame-retardant, UV-resistive plastic jacket
nnnnprotects the braiding against humidity and offers
nnnnfurther protection against major mechanical
nnnnstress.
nnnn6. Protective jacket of fluorpolymer
nnnnor alternatively polyolefin
