ALUMINA MOLDABLE SLEEVING
TYPE RS-MS
ZIRCAR Refractory Composites, Inc. produces a comprehensive range of advanced high performance ceramic-ceramic
composites and related products. Our materials are used around the world in demanding thermal, structural and
electrical insulating applications at temperatures from 600°C(1112°F) to 1650°C(3002°F). For over twenty-five years we
have been a problem solver working with many industries to resolve their thermal management problems. We have
developed materials that have become industry standards for induction melting, forging and heat-treating applications,
investment casting, glass processing, hot pressing, as well as many high temperature electrical applications.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ZRCI Refractory Sheet Type RS-MS Moldable
Sleeving is a moist woven alumina composite sleeving.
It is supplied in a wet form ready for the fabrication of
custom shapes. It can be cut to size with a knife or
scissors, wrapped around a suitable form, air dried, and
immediately put into service. It is ideal for applications up
to up to 1300°C (2373°F).
ZRCI Refractory Sheet Type RS-MS Moldable Sleeving is
odorless and contains no asbestos. Its high alumina
content makes RS-MS highly resistant to many
environments including molten aluminum as well as many
types of fuel oils. When hardened with AL-HARD, it
becomes “rock hard” for greater strength. The many uses
for Type RS-MS Sleeving include: cover for rings and
saddles used in the annealing of hand blown glassware;
asbestos sleeving replacement metal tube and pipe
insulation; hose line and cable protection; and high
temperature gaskets.
