DRILL INSPECTION MICROSCOPE
A must for every printed circuit drilling department.
No matter how good your circuit drilling machine or how
carefully calculated your feeds and speeds are, if the drill
bit has bad point geometry or a chipped cutting edge, you
are sure to end up with problems. From poor drill centering, which causes bad registration, to rough holes, which
can cause plating voids. Add these to some nice multilayer
boards and you have EXPENSIVE problems. A simple,
but quick inspection of incoming drills, or inspection just
prior to use, can save you thousands of dollars in rejected
boards.
Features
• Smooth rotational focusing ring
• Outstanding clarity from the 25X quality optics
• Comfortable rubber eye guard
• Reticle with measuring scale
• Heavy duty black anodized aluminum body
• Holds .125" (3.18mm) shank drills
Horizontal mount is for checking flute, margin and
relief. Vertical mount is for checking drill point geometry
and surface finish. Switch from horizontal to vertical
mount easily. No need to remove depth-setting rings to
inspect drills.

GRATICULES DEPTH MEASURING MICROSCOPE, PORTABLE
The OPGCP879 is a portable microscope for
measuring the size and depth of objects. It is a versatile tool for use in the workshop, the laboratory
or in the field to measure the thickness of photographic film, depth of coatings on opaque materials,
pits and scratches, depth of blind cavities, cracks in
opaque and translucent materials, solder thickness,
silk screen ink coating, machined surfaces, surface
corrosion, indentations, etc.
Built entirely out of metal with high quality
glass optics, this heavy duty microscope is precision
engineered to meet the rigors of continuous use in a
variety of environments. Through-the-lens illumination is provided by an external power supply and the
light is above the objective lens.
Operation
The microscope is focused on one surface and the zero
datum mark is adjusted to coincide with the zero of the
depth scale. The focus is then adjusted to the second surface
and the separation of the two surfaces or depth is read
directly from the scale. This instrument (which has a fixed
calibration) is focused by means of the rotating central body
section.
