4 Spec E is a software application for the PCs

with Pentium or subsequent microprocessor. It

nnnn

is designed for use with a frame grabber and

nnnn

any video camera for video imaging

nnnn

spectroscopy, where image data is grouped into

nnnn

bands that run either parallel or perpendicular to

nnnn

the video scan lines. Intensity data from each

nnnn

band may be plotted as intensity graphs, as

nnnn

pseudo-color or grayscale 16- bit/pixel images,

nnnn

or as a superimposition of image and intensity

nnnn

plots.

nnnn

4 Spec E is designed to run under Windows 9x,

nnnn

ME or NT/2000/XP or subsequent on the IBM-

nnnn

PC. Analysis of stored curve data high-

nnnn

resolution plots as well as grayscale or full-color

nnnn

images can be printed to any IBM-compatible

nnnn

printer. Graphics can alternatively be achieved

nnnn

to a TIFF file for export to drawing or publishing

nnnn

programs. Data may also be exported as text or

nnnn

binary integers for entry into spreadsheets,

nnnn

image processing software, etc. The Data can

nnnn

also be output as real-time video into the Image

nnnn

Pro Sequence files (*.SEQ).

4 Spec E also supports Dynamic Data Exchange

nnnn

(DDE) protocol as a DDE server for curve data.

nnnn

Intensity data from an image may be grouped

nnnn

and summed for plotting into a maximum of

nnnn

8000 different 16 bit per pixel linear arrays,

nnnn

called curve memories. Curve length is

nnnn

adjustable up to 8000 pixels. 4 Spec E lets you

nnnn

choose the specific image rows to include in

nnnn

each curve, and supports arithmetic processing

nnnn

of curves and images.

nnnn

4 Spec E offers a full range of camera-control

nnnn

and data-acquisition functions. Data for the full

nnnn

frame grabber image or a grouped image array

nnnn

can be acquired and viewed as grayscale or

nnnn

pseudo-color images, or as curves in a variety of

nnnn

2D and 3D plot modes. Any type of image or

nnnn

plot can be repetitively scanned in live mode,

nnnn

yielding convenient, real-time data presentation.

Real-time feature include automatic dark-

nnnn

background image subtraction, automatic image

nnnn

flat-fielding, and live display of image pixel

nnnn

position and intensity.

4 Spec E is designed for real-time data

acquisition with a PC or compatible computer

nnnn

incorporating a Pentium, or subsequent

nnnn

processor. 4 Spec E communicates with the

installed hardware via a MS-Windows software

nnnn

driver which is included on the same disk.

of frame grabbers and slow scan data
