It is important to note that to maximize your save time, in addition to installing the 10Gb link on the PC end, the entire system specifications must be considered. For example, if you are using the 10Gb connection on a very powerful PC to save Cine files to a USB drive, you will see no increase of speed because of the limitations of that USB connection. Included in the purchase of the 10Gb Ethernet CineStation or upgrade is a Myricom PCI Express card, 10Gb XFPSR transceiver, and 10 meters of multimode fiber optic cable. These items have been tested and qualified for use at Vision Research, using dedicated computers and RAID systems. Pre-Installation Vrification: 2. Verify or Update the CineStation to the proper firmware a. The CineStation requires the following minimum firmware for 10GBE utilization: i. ph7.756 ii. csge12.bin.50179 (xbin) iii. fdhd.bin.12263 iv. zImage.ocotea.16140 (kernel) 2. Verify or Install the current Phantom Camera Control Software version a. PCC 1.3.697.0 b. During PCC 1.3.697.0 installation, check the corresponding box that installs the WinPcap driver Myricom 10GE card Installation: 1. Install the Myricom 10Gbps PCIe NIC, into an available PCIe x8 or x16 slot in the computer. 2. Apply power to the computer. 3. For optimal performance, also download and install the latest 'Winpcap' driver (version 4.1.2) available from: http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm 4. Windows should automatically detect the new hardware. Cancel the Windows driver installation. 5. Download the latest driver for the Myricom network card, located here: http://www.myri.com/support/downloads/myri10ge.html Windows XP Windows 7 6.
