In borosilicate glassware bottles of 5 l (9 kg), 10 l (18 kg) or 27 l (50 kg) net
volume with PTFE manifold arrangement, manual or pneumatic. Each bottle
is enclosed in a sealed polyethylene bag and packed in a metallic drum, filled
with shock- and fluid absorbing material.
In 1A1 stainless steel container, net volume 30 l (50 kg), 60 l (100 kg), 120 l
(200 kg) and 240 l (400 kg) with PTFE manifold arrangement, manual or
pneumatic. Each container is placed in a DOT approved, 3D plywood box.
Containers are in accordance with DOT and UN regulations.
Handling
Germanium tetrachloride is a corrosive, non-inflammable colourless liquid
with a suffocating odour; it fumes in contact with humid air. Germanium
tetrachloride hydrolyses in water in order to form hydrogen chloride and
germanium dioxide.
