The all new balanced piston pump design provides

nnnn

an efficient hand pumping system to close or open

nnnn

conventional pipeline valves and acts as a standby

nnnn

manually operated system. The all new Shafer

nnnn

Pump has a balanced ram design to eliminate

nnnn

accidental or uncontrolled action of the pump ram

nnnn

in the event that pressurized gas or fluid should

nnnn

enter the pump cavity under the piston. The Shafer

nnnn

pump also provides an improved hand pump

nnnn

system which eliminates cavitation, or sucking air,

nnnn

by forcing fluid into pump suction chamber during

nnnn

the downward pressure stroke, therefore, providing

nnnn

a full cavity of oil for the next pressure stroke.

nnnn

This anti-cavitation feature allows the pump to be

nnnn

stroked at any speed without drawing a vacuum

nnnn

into the pumping chamber. A further provision is the

nnnn

automatic self-neutralizing feature which functions

nnnn

in the event that the valve selector is left in either

nnnn

the open or close position after hand pumping.

nnnn

This self-neutralizing feature pilots the valve

nnnn

controls into neutral or automatic when power oil

nnnn

or gas is forced into the hand pump system. To

nnnn

eliminate leaving the pump ram in the up position

nnnn

exposed to atmospheric conditions, the pump is

nnnn

equipped with a manual operated pressure relief

nnnn

valve for relieving pressure after the pumping cycle

nnnn

is complete.

nnnn

This relief valve feature allows the ram to be pulled

nnnn

back down into the pump head, thus protecting

nnnn

it against corrosive or detrimental atmospheric

nnnn

conditions.

nnnn

construction for salt atmosphere protection.

2. Stainless steel port connections for fittings.
