Gas Control Panels
DESCRIPTION
MULTISCAN MTSL (Light) and MTSP (Parking) are
microprocessor based units for toxic and/or explosive gas
detection, designed to offer the customer a powerful and
flexible system.
At the core of the control panel is a powerful 8 bit
microprocessor operating at a frequency of 12 MHz.
MULTISCAN LIGHT version has been designed to
manage up to 104 detectors (analogue type, 4-20mA
output) while the version PARKING can manage up to 200
detectors.
The connection to the detectors is carried out by
employing remote modules each offering a 8 input
connection linked on the RS485 buses
MULTISCAN central units are equipped with 4 output
relays programmable and linked to thresholds alarm or
fault status, with stable, latched or pulsed output. In
addition to these outputs, it is possible to connect 4
output modules on each RS 485 bus so as to offer 64
additional Open Collector output to the version LIGHT
and 128 to the PARKING.
The flexibility of the control unit permits to use together
detector for explosive and toxic gas, by setting different
thresholds for every detector. It’s possible to assign
measure unit in % LEL for explosive gases and in ppm
(part per million) for toxic gases.
Both versions MTSL and MTSP are provided with events
log: the number of events that the control unit can store
is up to 800.
A Centronic’s parallel printer port is also available.
The system configuration is carried out directly through
the keypad on the front panel and the graphic LC-display
(back-lit 256x64 pixel) shows the system status and the
gas concentration being detected.
A serial port RS232 is also provided for the connection to
a personal computer thus allowing a saving time The
same port allows connection to remote programming and
control systems (Personal Computer) that during the
normal operation, provides the facility of copying, storing
and viewing the programming data and event log from an
on-line MTS control unit.
The information transmitted to the computer are in SIA
format that provides highly detailed information on each
alarm or events, but the MTS control units can be
customized with other kind of formats.
The control units are housed in Metal cabinet or in a 19”
3 units rack with separate power supply which has to be
ordered separately.
