nnnnSelective Soldering with Short Cycle Times
nnnnThe HSS 3235 (High-volume Selective System) is ideal, as
nnnna supplement to reflow processes, to solder leaded com-
nnnnponents or connectors. This applies specifically when
nnnnshort cycle times are required for large volume production.
nnnnBoth, bare boards as well as carriers can be processed
nnnnand of course the HSS 3235 may be integrated into a fully
nnnnautomated production line.
nnnnThe Individual Modules and Process Steps:
nnnnDepending on the size of PCB to be soldered, the HSS
nnnn3235 feeds one or more assemblies into the different
nnnnmachine areas: fluxer, preheating or soldering area. In
nnnneach case, all joints will be fluxed, preheated or soldered in
nnnnparallel and at the
nnnnsame time which
nnnnguarantees shortest
nnnncycle times.
nnnnAdditionally, the HSS
nnnn3235 is equipped
nnnnwith a segmented
nnnnconveyor system,
nnnnallowing individual
nnnnprofile settings.
nnnnLet's first have a look on the first process step: fluxing. The
nnnncycle time in this area is independent from the number of
nnnnsolder joints, as all joints will be fluxed simultaneously.
nnnnDepending on your application, a stamp fluxing system or
nnnna coordinate spray fluxer may
nnnnbe integrated. The product-
nnnnspecific tools which are used
nnnnfor the stamp fluxer of course
nnnnare quickly exchangeable.
nnnnOptionally, a programmable
nnnncoordinate fluxing unit can be
nnnninstalled to avoid change-over
nnnntimes. Micro drop jet nozzles
nnnnguarantee minimum flux resi-
nnnndues.
nnnnThe preheating zone consists of heating modules with IR
nnnnemitters and may be supplemented with a convection
nnnnheating module. This guarantees an efficient and very
nnnnhomogeneous heat transfer.
