Tool Gripper Handling0 pages
Automation in tool
handling – especially
there!
Tooling includes major core competency
with extruders, therefore requiring extensive »attention«. The term tool handling
stands for the pioneering combination of
two components, which have been employed for years. These are press rest
shear and tool dismantling press.
Picture left: Tool handling for the more
than 20,000 dies employed in a leading
press plant (in operation since the end of
1999)
Tool-Handling
Stations of a simple tool (typical): Chain
conveyor > manipulator > press rest shear
> manipulator > dismantling press >
manipulator (turns the die at the same
time) > press rest shear > manipulator >
discharge (conveyor belt)
High return and therefore rapid
amortisation
The picture shows a press rest shear (own product sheet) with a
shearing force of 800 kN almost unchanged with regard to the
standard and a tool dismantling press (own product sheet) with
horizontal die holder, contrary to the previously popular vertical
holder, on the right and left respectively. Both components depicted here are designed for tool diameters of 206 - 425 mm and tool
heights of 40 - 200 mm.
Picture top: Manipulator for turning and »transporting« the
tool (simple or split) and the
tool ring.
Picture bottom: Gripper for
manual manipulation of the tool
(die) and the tool ring. Gripper
is also available individually.
Facilitation of work for operating
personnel
Minimisation of »regeneration time«
for tools
Simple extension of the system possible
(feed and discharge systems, automated
storage in tool magazine,...)
