Dual-Mode Remote
Thermometer

Description
Moore Industries’ BIMETAL Dual-Mode Remote
Thermometer provides on-site indication of process
temperature conditions, and simultaneously provides
a mV or ohm signal proportional to temperature for
input to a transmitter, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU),
controller, recorder, indicator, PLC, DCS or SCADA
system.
No Power Supply Required—The BIMETAL
requires no power supply at the point of measurement. It is composed of a rugged thermowell probe
assembly that contains Moore Industries’ RTD or
thermocouple WORM sensor, combined with a large
analog display. Both the sensor and display are NIST
traceable, and can be quickly calibrated in the field.
Combination BIMETAL Thermometer
and Temperature Transmitter
Moore Industries offers a complete range of
termperature transmitters for converting the
BIMETAL’s low-level mV or ohm signal to a 4-20mA
or 1-5Vdc signal. This high-level, noise-resistant
signal is ideal for sending process data long distances back to a field-mounted RTU or directly to a
control room.
The BIMETAL’s large, easy-to-read display can be
accurately read at numerous viewing angles.
Easy-to-Read Bimetal Thermometer
• Local temperature indication on a large 3-inch dial
• 0-250°F and 0-500°F dial ranges
• Hermetically sealed per ASME B40.3
Figure 1. The BIMETAL’s large, easy-to-read dial comes in
0-250°F and 0-500°F ranges.
