Temperature Control Unit
nnnnMonitors and maintains temperature
nnnnfor optimal coating material performance.
nnnnFeatures and Benefits
nnnn■ Coating materials are applied at optimal temperature.
nnnnMaterial viscosity is controlled and will not be
nnnnadversely affected by changes in plant temperature.
nnnn■ Materials can be heated or cooled to achieve
nnnnoptimal performance and coverage by raising
nnnnor lowering viscosity.
nnnn■ The microprocessor PID controller continuously
nnnnindicates the temperature set point and process
nnnntemperature. An RTD temperature sensor in the
nnnnfluid stream automatically selects heating or cooling.
nnnn■ User-friendly controller includes temperature
nnnndeviation alarm, front panel and external fault
nnnnmonitoring, loop break alarm and security lockout.
nnnn■ While the standard TCU operates a single heat
nnnnexchange circuit, the system can be ordered with
nnnnmultiple channels of temperature conditioning.
nnnn■ Remote mountable heat exchanger
nnnnThe Nordson Temperature Control Unit provides an effective
nnnnmethod to monitor and maintain material temperature by
nnnnheating or cooling during can coating operations. The TCU
nnnnheats, cools and circulates the closed-loop conditioning
nnnnwater through heat exchangers and ancillary components to
nnnnensure proper temperature of the coating material throughout
nnnnproduction. A temperature sensor located in the coating fluid
nnnnstream sends the material temperature to the PID controller,
nnnnwhich automatically determines whether heating, cooling,
nnnnor no action is required. This method provides very consistent
nnnncontrol of the coating temperature.
nnnnThe Nordson temperature control unit can be customized to
nnnnmeet specific production requirements for size, heat exchanger
nnnnmounting, and pump volume.
nnnnHeating Capability
nnnnThe heating component of the temperature control unit helps
nnnnto maintain consistent viscosity of coating material for proper
nnnnfilm deposition and better operating efficiency and performance.
nnnnApplication of coating material kept at ideal temperature
nnnnwith water based coatings helps to improve flow and leveling
nnnncharacteristics for uniform coverage and reduced metal exposure.
nnnnThis can provide improved quality that minimizes reworks and
nnnnproduction line stoppages. Further, proper temperature control
nnnncan enable the use of lower spray pressures, which can reduce
nnnncomponent wear and maintenance requirements to help ensure
nnnnlong service life.
