water injection.
For continuous flaring ap
plications, rotating the
tip away from the plat-
form moves the emissive
center of the flame fur-
ther from the point of in-
terest and thereby, re-
ducing the effective radi-
ation.

POSEIDON™

system has been modified with a
proprietary high pressure water
injection technology. The result is
the new "Poseidon™" smokeless
flare system
LOWER NOISE
The Poseidon™ Flare system
lowers high pressure flare noise
by altering noise frequencies with
water injection, nozzle size and
orientation. The reduction is
particularly significant when high
molecular weight gas is flared.
The noise reduction is less for low
molecular weight gases, but still
better than without the injection.
LOWER RADIATION
Full-scale testing shows that
radiation levels can be reduced by
injecting water. However, the
amount of reduction depends on
several factors: how the water is
injected, how much water is
injected, the molecular weight of
the gas and the operating
pressure of the waste gas stream.
