nnnnMicro Coat Filter for liquid filtration
nnnn1. Introduction:
nnnnHerding has developed the new innovative Micro Coat* DELTAForce" filter element based
nnnnon the Herding Sinter Lamella filter (HSL) for the separation of very finest particles from
nnnnliquids, f. e. water, water based coolants, emulsion or oil based coolants.
nnnnIn order to separate the very fine particles down to a few microns special structured filter
nnnnsurfaces are necessary, where as the pressure drop of the filter element should be in an
nnnneconomical acceptable range. This target has been achieved by applying a thin Micro Coat*
nnnnon a comparatively coarse filter element structure.
nnnnThis Micro Coat* is embedded in the outer surface part of the filter element structure and not
nnnnasa layer on the outer surface of the element.
nnnnThe Micro Coat* is a composite of very fine inorganic particles with organic additives which
nnnnare favourable for the regeneration/back flushing process of the DELTAForce*'element
nnnn2. Filter element construction:
nnnnBeside the new Micro Coat* system Herding has
nnnnbeen successful in constructing a gasket free filter
nnnnelement which avoids all the well known gasket
nnnnrelated problems which occur especially in the
nnnnfiltration of very fine particles from liquids. The
nnnnnew gasket free DELTAForce** element consists
nnnnof the sinter lamella filter body, which is embedded
nnnnin a stainless steel head and foot piece. By
nnnnintegrating the filter body, the head and the foot
nnnnpiece in one unit a new filter system has been
nnnnborn ready to be connected with the influent and
nnnneffluent pipe work of the filter plant.
nnnnThe clean liquid Is discharged centrally through
nnnnthe connection pipe which is integrated in the
nnnnhead piece of the filter element. The back flushing
nnnnpipe is also integrated in the head piece.
nnnnThe filter area for one DELTAForce** filter element
nnnncan be up to 7,6 m2.
nnnnThe vertical orientation of the sinter lamella
nnnnstructure of the filter element supports the
nnnndislodging of the filter cake to the drag conveyor
nnnnduring the back flushing process.
