Shock test
After 24h immersion
then drying, test under
10 KV for 3min.
Shocks at sleeve tip,
with 0.2 kgm energy
(after exposure of the tool
at–25°C for 2h):
the sleeve must show
no damage nor crack.
Between metal and outside
the sleeve: the leak current
must remain below
1 mA for 200mm
on sleeved tools.
Flame non
propagation test
Submitted to a flame for 10s,
its propagation on the tool
must be observed during 20 s
with a height below 120 mm.
Penetration test
Application of a constant
force of 20 N at the most
vulnerable point of the
sleeve, followed with
a heating and cooling
period. The sleeve must
have no perforation
nor electric bypass,
upon application of a 5 KV
voltage for 3 min.
Insulation
adherence test
After an exposure of 168 h
at 70°C, a 50 kg force
is applied to the sleeves,
in the tearing direction,
for 3 min: the sleeves
or guards must not peel
off the tool.
