ROD MOULDING of Glass is a specialist process
employing the use of Polished rods of Glass which are
heated until they become soft and then offered into an
accurate tool, (see Fig. No 1 ) forming a
chill free, FIRE POLISHED component.

utilising this ROD MOULDING process.

The advantages of this method of Glass moulding is that greater dimensional accuracy
and better surface finishes can be achieved when compared with other Glass pressing
techniques. Additional advantages are that smaller
quantities can be processed economically, tooling costs
are lower and a variety of Glass types are available.

grinding & polishing, profiling, slicing, toughening,
