Purpose
The 300RR permits to achieve mulching
of sides of railroads directly from the rail
tracks.
It uses its great range to effectively mulch
around rails, in road beds, in trenches and
on slopes straight from the track.
Description
The 300RR is a self-propelled vehicle with
hydrostatic drive.
On the road, the carrier can move in
“crab” mode or with coordinated wheels
in order to make easier manoeuvring and
moving onto the rails.
On rails, the machine moves thanks to
a direct hydrostatic drive, that does not
involve any direct contact with the tyres,
for precise movements of up to 30 km/h.
This vehicle includes:
• A mechanically welded support structure with high-elastic resistance boxed
stainless steel side rails on which the
axles that enable all-terrain motions
are mounted, along with 4 driving and
steering wheels,
• Two teetering bogies that enable
to pass over railway wheel sensors
without detection,
• An accurate swivelling hydraulic
loader that can make the lateral
movements required for mulching
works, along with a dedicated
mulching head,
• A cab that can swivel up to 90°, providing full visibility of the work zone and
upcoming rails,
• High railway safety level equipment,
approved to work where adjacent
tracks are open to trafc.
Strengths
• Prevents having to use other mulching
vehicles that represent risks, being too
close to the tracks and leaving residue on
the tracks or even on the trains,
• Can access worksites that are impossible
to access for traditional machines that use
tyres or caterpillar tracks,
• Can move in both directions on the track,
• Uses a very secure and ergonomic
system, which satises the most stringent
railroad standards, authorizing work
under live overhead wires or where there
is an adjacent track that is open to train
trafc,
• Ergonomic controls and a comfortable,
soundproof and air conditioned cab,
• Mulching head that is quick and easy to
interchange (possibility of using a rotary
slasher/mulcher),
• Can also be used on roads,
• Powerful mulching head and long-range
crane,
• Has an anti-infringing mechanism of the
adjacent track for use during the process
of setting on/off of the track,
• Uses teetering bogies with inverted wheel
anges to enable working without triggering the rail wheel sensors that are on
railroad networks during the repetitive
forward and backward movements,
• Derived from UNAC’s successful
experience in building forest mulchers
and railroad vehicles,
• A proven system that already has over
40 machines in service in Europe.
