Measurements without limits
In car body construction (locomotive manufacture), the interest is on inclined
positions in the side panels, interface dimensions, roof widths and the clearance
profile.
Accuracies of 1 mm are to be maintained for the welded assemblies, with a
length of up to 20 metres for one-sided box-type tippers.
An API laser tracker can measure much more accurately; its measurement range
is up to 60 meters, depending on the model.
