The M. Torres Group came into existence in 1976. Growth and
expansion have been steady based upon engineering competence
and the ability of our team to develop unique solutions for various
needs within the industrial automation area. This significant
engineering competence, 40-45% of our work force are fully
involved with engineering and Research & Development, have
allowed M. Torres to participate in the automation of many different
production processes throughout the world.
The initial activity of the M. Torres Group was within the Paper
Converting industry. Now a full division within the group, the
PAPER CONVERTING DIVISION, consists of engineering, manufacturing,
and the installation and commissioning of our full
product range. The M. Torres range of unwind and splicing
systems got its start in the Corrugating Industry and has been
expanding throughout the paper and paperboard industries with
installations now found on printing lines, extrusion and adhesive
coating and laminating lines, sheet cutters, and a wide variety of
paper coating and general converting lines. To operate in conjunction
with our primary web handling components M. Torres
also supplies paper roll transport systems and web tension
systems to ensure operational excellence.
Now in operation since 1976, The M. Torres Group has more
than 650 customers throughout the world. Most of the worlds
most prestigious corporations have come to M. Torres for process

Inland Paperboard and Packaging Incorporated, Graphics Resource
Center, specializes in multi-color flexo printing of various
paperboard structures with a basis weight range from 15#/1000
square feet to 68#/1000 square feet. Our final product is preprint
linerboard for corrugated packaging.
In 1992, we built a new facility in Indianapolis and installed a 10
color 100" wide water based flexo press complete with dual floor
pick-up unwind roll stands and an automatic butt splicing system
designed and manufactured by M. Torres Disenos Industriales,
S.A. of Pamplona, Spain. We have now entered our 12th year of
operation and the splicing system has operated at a high rate of
reliability, and other than routine preventative maintenance, has
required almost no emergency breakdown repair.

1) Fully automatic butt splice capability
2) Complete splice reliability at speeds in excess of 1200FPM
without any splice tail running through our press.
3) The ability to run and splice a variety of web widths without
operator intervention.
4) Constant tension throughout the line without effect from the
unwind system.
5) Absolute minimal operator involvement... his only task is to
prepare the splice tape.
6) The ability to precisely control roll core waste, thus controlling
overall product waste, while having zero effect on splice
reliability.

when the time comes to consider future purchases of splicing
