The sensor IC MMCS6 is based on the reliable technolo-

nnnn

gies of the compact and cost-efficient JENCOLOR semi-

nnnn

conductor sensors. The sensor IC simulates 7 spectral

nnnn

values of the visual range (380-780nm) for spectral analy-

nnnn

sis and color measurements.

nnnn

The evaluation of a color takes place on the radio metric

nnnn

level and not the colorimetric level. The result is the spec-

nnnn

trum of a color that is used to calculate the color space.

nnnn

The advantage is that a higher information density can be

nnnn

gathered for color measurement purposes.

nnnn

Advantages of the spectral sensors are that the metame-

nnnn

rism effect can be filtered out, which is not possible with

nnnn

colorimetrical sensors. The sensor IC MMCS6CS utilizes

nnnn

light-sensitive detectors on-chip interference filters in a

nnnn

compact SMD sensor packaging.

The sensor shows no aging influences and is long-term

nnnn

and temperature stable

nnnn

All spectral values of the sensor IC MMCS6 are optimized

to high measurement accuracy independent of the quality

nnnn

of light sources.

Via spectral approximation of the measured color and

spectral algorithms colors can be measured at an accura-

cy beyond the capabilities of the human eye.

The sensor is capable of fast in-line measurements and

can be utilized within handheld applications.
