For Wind Farm Applications
The GVR 38 / 10 is part of the award winning GVR family combining
the high reliability of vacuum interruption with the controlled
environment and high dielectric strength of SF6 in a compact,
maintenance-free unit. (By utilising SF6 for insulation only, there is
no health hazard from the toxic by-products of arcing)
The patented, single coil magnetic actuator provides consistent
performance and a dramatic reduction in moving parts. Materials
and finishes have been carefully chosen for reliability - from the
epoxy separable bushing interface to the neodymium iron boron
magnets used in the mechanism.

Application
The GVR 38 / 10 is a stand-alone, circuit breaker, which can be used to isolate individual
wind turbines for faults which do not affect other parts of the network. The power required
to operate the control circuitry and mechanism is obtained from an in-built dc battery
charger. The unit is supplied with a remote wall mountable control box, which houses the
protection and control equipment. In addition to this the unit has the facility to be remotely
controlled via a SCADA package.
